Route Description and Environment
To enter the protected area from Mejia, you shall take the southern Panamericana road, on the paved road until you reach the El Chaupi parish; through a second order way you will reach La Virgen sector. In the reserve you can observe flora and fauna as well as the Illinizas and the Corazón volcano, named like this for its shape of inverted heart; It covers an area of 149.900 ha.
The temperature is 0 ° C in the upper area and reaches a maximum of 24 ° C in the lower area
